Covid-19 Update

Dear Patient,

Throughout the outbreak of Covid-19, our first priority has been, and continues to be, the wellbeing of all of our patients and colleagues. Therefore ahead of the lifting of all restrictions on Monday 19th July, we would like to inform you that Oriel Dental Practice will be keeping all measures in place. This includes wearing a mask within the building.

The governing bodies for dentistry have informed that all current procedures will remain in place at least until they are reviewed in September 2021.

Thank you for your continued cooperation during this time,

What a visit to Oriel will be like when you see us

When you do attend the practice, there will be some new protection measures in place. We understand that some of these might seem a little strange at first, so please read on to see how you can help us keep everyone safe.

  • When you call to book your appointment, our receptionist will inform you of the measures that are in place to keep both yourself and our team safe.

  • On the day of your appointment, when you arrive at the practice you will be asked to call us or give us a wave through the window. Please wherever possible come to the practice alone. A member of the team will come to the door as soon as they are free to do so.

  • Before entering the building you will be asked to fill out our Covid-19 questionnaire, which you can download from our website or complete on a clean board and pen outside. All patients, unless exempt, are asked to kindly wear a face covering at all times whilst in reception and the waiting rooms. When you first enter, you will have your temperature checked and will be asked to use our hand sanitiser.

  • If your temperature is over 37.8 degrees your appointment will need to be rearranged. This is to ensure the safety of the team and any other patients attending the practice that day.

  • If your temperature is under 37.8 degrees our receptionist will check you in and will allow you to take one of the seats available in the waiting room. These are marked to ensure a 2 meter distance between yourself and anyone else.

  • Once in the surgery we will confirm your details and check your medical history. We will then discuss how we can help you and what your concerns are.

  • The dentist will proceed with the assessment and agree the best treatment with you and carry out treatment if appropriate and agreed.

  • Once you have been seen by the dental surgeon or the hygienist, you may make your way back to reception where they will make any necessary appointments and/or payments. We ask wherever possible for payments to be made by card, contactless is available.

You will then be checked out of the practice ensuring minimum contact with other patients.

We very much appreciate all of your patience throughout this time.
